Spending Time With Friends and Taking Care Of You
By Connie Hertz
As I’m writing this, I’m getting ready to fly to Indiana for my 23rd annual “Laker Chick” girlfriend time.
Spending time with friends is a part of taking care of ourselves. We need times of fun, laughter, light-heartedness (is that a word?), and times to connect with our friends. My group of friends I’m going to spend time with, all met at an exercise place in Muncie, Indiana, when our kids were all young.
We’ve been getting together now for 23 years to spend time on Lake Tippecanoe, west of Ft. Wayne. (see the inserted photo!)
Do you have friends you take time to get together with on a regular basis? If not, I would suggest you make it happen~!
This article today is short, since I’m getting ready to fly out for my week with my friends.
I also had a 2 1/2 hour dinner the other night with a friend I met back in 1992, after I first moved here to Minnesota. We haven’t taken this time to be together for a couple years now, and we reconnected easily, and asked “why we had waited so long to get together?”. We made a pact we would get together every month for a casual dinner, so we can keep our connection on-going.
Do you have friends you would like to do this with too? If so, make it happen!
Love and blessings to all of you,
Connie
