Laughter
By Connie Hertz
This week I have been reminded I need to laugh more often! How about you?
At my Awesome Women Circle I hosted here at my home the other night, I drew a card that said “Laugh”. I immediately began to laugh, since this message to me was so true!
Pictured here with Hale and I, are two of our grandchildren, Gavin and Phoebe. We had them overnight last night, and their easy ongoing laughter is so contagious.
Have you been around children recently? Do you see how their light heartedness, and carefree ways, produce so much laughter from them?
Children can be some of our greatest teachers. I enjoy so much being around children. I can remember so many things about my own childhood, and remember how much I laughed. I had a really fun childhood, with lots of outdoor activities.
So, I ask myself, what can I do to make sure I laugh more often?
I was at an eWomen meeting this week, and one of the ladies spoke about my last blog about Joy and the photo I attached to it. She said she loved my laugh and it was so infectious, and as she looked at that pic of me, she could hear me laugh. I loved hearing that from her!
I’m a fairly serious, deep person. And at the same time, I will begin today to be more aware of laughing and doing things and thinking things that will help me laugh!
Google Norman Cousins, a man who in 1964 was diagnosed with a rare disease, and his doctors gave him a few months to live. He fired his doctors, and stayed in his home for awhile, watching funny movies, and had no negativity in his life. Laughter has been proven medically to strengthen our immune systems. Did you know that? Cousins lived until 1990, long, long after his doctors said he would.
Look into laughter and health/healing. Google it. Interesting info out there!
How about you? What will you do to help yourself laugh more often?
Share with us below what makes you laugh and what you can do more of, to laugh more often!
With love and laughter,
Connie
