The Universal Law of Relativity has been on my mind this week.
This Law is about everything being relative; size, time etc. For example, here in Minnesota in mid January, we have had actual temps that are below zero. Recently we had a stretch of this kind of temp with snow and then it moved into ice.
As we live in a climate like this, we dress for this weather and go about our lives.
The last few days the temp moved up to just over 40 degrees and the sun was shining brightly. I found myself saying, “Wow it feels like spring! It feels so warm!” I heard others wherever I went, saying the same thing.
I talked to someone who lives in a warm climate all year round that day. I tell him about our weather and how warm it feels being at 40 degrees and he can’t relate! It sounds cold to him!
You get the picture right? It’s all relative.
This is the Universal Law of Relativity. So how can you use this Law to help you move forward in your life and also to feel better and get closer to living on that left side of the Emotional Scale I’ve been talking about, where our vibrations are higher and we’re living more of a life we love?
For me it puts things in my life into a different perspective as I think about this Law. It helps me to remember when someone is exhibiting something that I don’t like or I don’t feel good about, that they have their different perspectives and that is OK.
It helps me to remember not to judge them.
Right now as I’m writing this it’s January 20, 2017, and our new President of the United States of America was just sworn in as our 45th President. There are many Americans who are very upset and are exhibiting their feelings in ways that are definitely on the right side of the Emotional Scale where their vibrations are lower and they’re attracting things into their life they really don’t want.
My thoughts are, become aware of this Law. Everything is relative. Everyone has their own opinions and in this great country, we all have freedom to express our thoughts and opinions. I am very thankful for that. And also, we who choose to live consciously vs living on auto-pilot, need to be responsible and aware of what we are saying all day every day, and how we are affecting ourselves and others around us.
Things in our lives have meaning because we give them meaning.
On a lighter side, think about keeping the heat on in your home at 63 degrees in the winter. Most would say, “Wow that’s really cold!” Go outside and it’s minus 15 degrees and then enter into that same home. It feels warm then doesn’t it? It’s all relative.
It’s all in the way we look at things. I see lots of people making someone else wrong when they are not thinking in the same way as you. I do this myself at times too.
What helps me to stop and slow down, and get a hold of judging someone else, is this Universal Law of Relativity. This Law tells us that everything in our physical world is made real by its relationship to something else. Light exists because we compare it to darkness. Hot can only exist because we compare it to cold.
Another way to describe this Law is everything in your life is comprised of relationships. Your act of “relating” one thing to another is the only reason why something exists.
If you say something costs too much, you have to be comparing it to something else, right? Compared to what? Are you getting what I’m saying?
There is way more to this Law I am not going to get into in this blog. Use this Law by finding all of the good in others around you and all of the good in your life.
Remember, every single decision a person makes is relative to some other decision.
