Time is precious, make sure you spend it with the right people.
I recently spent 8 nights in Florida with my dad, my daughter Abby, her husband James and their 4 month old baby girl, Elianah. She is Dad’s 30th great grandchild!
As you are reading this, I am on my way home from Florida, with my husband Hale, spending more time with Abby and family.
Because, I do not like winter, on February 1st, I flew to meet Dad at Detroit Airport, to get him out of a 13 inch snow storm. I decided to go back to the warm climate with Hale, 2 1/2 weeks later, in hopes of seeing another Space X launch at Kennedy Space Center. There were no launches scheduled originally, for the day Dad and I went.
Consequently, imagine our surprise, when Dad and I experienced an actual launch! Bucket list item for both of us! I was able to record the entire launch!
As I said, time is precious. It is the most important thing we have.
Watching Dad and Elianah together was priceless. He is amazing with babies and kids and for that matter all people!
Seeing my daughter as a momma and the way her baby looks at her, was priceless. My heart was so full and happy, as I cherished these precious moments.
How often do you think about someone and not reach out to talk to them or spend time with them?
This is why it is so very important to slow down each day and not live on auto-pilot. Take the time to be with your friends and family. Pick up the phone and talk to them.
One thing my mom said on the last day of her life, “I thought I had more time.” Even though she knew where she was going and she was not afraid to die.
Time is the most precious thing we have. And hers was coming to an end that day.
Here is something I read online that stood out for me about time:
“To know the value of:
-one year, ask the student who failed.
-a month, ask the mother of a premature baby.
-one week, ask the editor of a weekly.
-a day, ask the person who has not much time to live.
-one minute, ask the passenger who missed the train.
-a second, ask the person who escaped an accident.
We all grow in time, live in time and ultimately, perish in time.”
Furthermore, spending your time with the right people is so important.
What do I mean by “the right people”?
For instance, they are the people who you feel warm, positive, energized and loving with.
Someone who loves and supports you and accepts you for who you are. They want only the best for you.
Some of them may be your biggest cheerleaders. You know who these people are.
Since time is our most important thing we possess in life, become aware of how you are spending it and who it’s with .
“Every morning time credits us with 86,400 seconds in a day. Every night it writes off whatever amount that we didn’t use. There’s no going back. There is no drawing against tomorrow. We must live in the present on todays deposits. We should invest time carefully as to receive the most we can in health, happiness, love and success. The clock is running, so make the most of today.”
“Time waits for no one, but it gives us equal duration to follow our dreams or waste them. Since it cannot be contained, we are only gifted with the power of memory to capture all the great moments that made our lives worthwhile.
Secondly, time is priceless. You have probably heard the saying that “the best things in life are free”? Same goes with time- it is the best gift that life has to offer us. You cannot put a monetary value to time. You cannot redeem it with any form of money or property.”
How will you spend your time? It’s your choice.
With love and so much appreciation,
Connie
