Do you believe that your thoughts and your mindset are more important than you know?
I was at an eWomen summit this past Tuesday with the dynamic Founder, Sandra Yancey. Someone asked at the end during the Q & A portion, something about changing our mindset. Sandra made it very clear that your mindset is vital to being successful in your business and your life.
Mindset is something you can change. She gave a couple of tips that will help you change your mindset:
- Ask yourself “What is my current belief about……………? (What ever you are struggling with)
- What is my most desired life I want around this topic?
- Then spend some time writing all of this down and really thinking about it. As you do this with everything that you may have an issue with or something that’s not sitting right with you, you’ll begin to change your mindset and beliefs around. Make sense? It’s never too late to “rewind the tapes.” Sandra also said, ” You can’t focus on any criticisms. You can’t build a million dollar mindset hanging around people who have minimum wage mindsets.” So watch who you’re spending the majority of your time around!
What I know from my studies on mindset and beliefs, is what you think and how you feel, is what manifests in your experience. They always match. Always.
A belief is only a thought you continue to think over and over. We begin very early in our lives, as we listen to those around us about what they think and feel about every topic out there. We develop our own beliefs as we continue to hear something over and over again.
As we continue to grow up, we create our beliefs from so many places and the people we’re in constant contact with.
We begin to find we’ve created many really good beliefs that create wonderful feelings inside of us and produce wonderful things and relationships in our lives. We also create beliefs that really aren’t serving us. Those are our limiting beliefs.
You see you end up getting what you think about, whether it’s wanted or unwanted. This includes the ailments we have in our bodies. There is a huge mind, body, spirit connection. We are all human and we all get caught up in human things and feelings, myself included.
I have a couple physical things going on in my body. Arthritis in my right thumb, where it’s hard to bend it and at my yearly eye appointment they found a small retinal tear. I am seeing a retinal surgeon this coming week.
Years ago when I was an oncology nurse, we taught our cancer patients about this mind, body spirit connection. One of the things that have been scientifically proven to work, is using meditation and laughter to help change around our cells. Remember as I have told you in other articles, we are made out of energy and we all carry certain vibrations.
As we shift our thoughts and feelings to the higher vibrations on the left side of the Emotional Scale I have shared with you, our body begins to heal it self. Back in the 1970’s there was a man who was in the news who had an “incurable disease”, Norman Cousins, who used laughter to heal his body.
Norman kept himself away from anything negative and anything that would create “dis-ease” in his body. He watched funny movies one after the other, laughing and laughing, for many hours for many days. After a few months as I remember it, Norman Cousins healed his body of this “incurable” disease.
Google him and read about him. Since you have control of your thoughts, you do have the ability to deliberately project thoughts that have a beneficial effect within your body. Just as Norman did.
The process of focusing more on the positive aspects of the thoughts you think, is something that requires time and some practice.
Meditation is a way to offer powerful benefits to your body and your life right now, even before you train your thoughts to a higher vibration. You must release resistant thoughts and meditation is a quick way to do this.
As you do this regularly your vibration rises. Thus you will create more of the life you truly enjoy living with a healthier physical body as well. I am practicing this now in relation to my eyes. We shall see what the surgeon says this coming week.
Here is the Emotional Scale to remind you of where you want to be feeling more of your moments than not. As you begin to really pay attention and know that your thoughts and mindset are so very important, so much will shift and change in every area of your life.
With love and blessings to you,
Connie
