The delight of springtime, is a fresh, new contrast from our colder winters we have here in Minnesota.
First, let me tell you how happy I am to be living within springtime right now!
You see, this past winter was more mild than most of the past.
However, as I was talking to someone recently about how much more appreciation I feel, when there is such a stark contrast in anything, I realize its a stronger gratitude.
In this instance it’s the weather.
Since my daughter’s first winter back here, one year ago, was the third snowiest on record, this past winter, felt much better.
Springtime, is a time of renewal. It’s a time of plans and projects.
For instance, I wait to begin planting our annuals until Memorial Day weekend. Sometimes, any earlier and it’s too cold.
The planning part of springtime, not only involves projects, but what will you do to enjoy the warm weather we have for the next only 3 months or so?
Furthermore, after our long winters, it’s a time to renew friendships with neighbors and friends.
Mostly, I experience less gatherings during the snow, ice and cold of winter. With the exception of the holidays.
As I walk around our neighborhood, listening to the birds sing, admiring the flowering trees, the spring tulips and daffodils, while breathing in the wonderful smell of lilacs, I feel almost giddy. The feeling of delight.
For me, it’s easier to feel that great feeling of joy, in the springtime and warmer weather. I thoroughly enjoy eating our dinners outside on our deck.
What about you?
When there is such a strong contrast with other things in life, do you also find more appreciation?
As a result of living within anything that doesn’t feel great to you, comes the awareness of the opposite and how much better it would be.
That’s part of allowing the feelings on the left side of the Emotional Scale, I’ve shared, to be present, more often.
Since being in the beauty of nature helps to stay within the higher vibrations, it’s easier to be on that left side of the scale.
Lastly, enjoying all the pleasures and the delight of springtime, helps you to live in joy more often.
My hope is you will slow down, live intentionally in your present moments, and feel more appreciation each day,
Connie
