First, spending time with family in Ohio, is something I cherish.
Because I’m the only sibling out of the 5 of us, ( see our photos with Dad, above) to move away from the Toledo, Ohio area, I travel back there often throughout the year.
For instance, recently, I spent 18 days in Ohio, mostly with my 94 1/2 year old dad, Homer, at his summer home or across the street from him in the guest house, owned by my sister & husband.
My only brother m, Jim and his wife, Brenda, live two houses down from Dad.
My dad’s only living sibling, Aunt Patsy and her husband, stay across the street and my nephew and his girlfriend live next door to them.
And of course my sister, Kathie & husband, Bill’s place, I referred to as the “guest house”, where family, so graciously get to stay, when they aren’t there.
It’s truly a family affair, with lots of visiting, walking, golf cart rides, and, swimming in the resort’s pool.
Therefore, spending time with them and other family members, was priceless.
You will see photos above and below of my time there, which included two family weddings.
Soon, my husband, Hale and I will be flying back again for a short trip, for the third family wedding in less than two months.
I’m grateful we can celebrate all 3 couples in person!
First of all, spending time with family, at the first wedding of my great nephew, also included spending time with my friend Caroline and her husband Bill.
They are actually one set of grandparents to my great nephew.
Their photo with me is above, lower right side.
Next came spending time with my friend of 62 years, Debbie, who came to stay with me for a few days in the guest house.
You can see our photo above, top right, having fun with Dad.
You see, I’m one of these people who appreciate and cherish my present moments the best I can consciously.
One way I do my best to achieve this, is to put my phone away when I’m visiting.
Additionally, when Hale joined me for the last 6 nights and the second wedding, I felt more complete. This was my nephew’s wedding, my brother and his wife’s 4th son out of 5.
Hale enjoys spending time with Dad and my family as well.
My dad is such a fun person to be around! As I’ve stated before, he’s like a people magnet.
In contrast to the first wedding, the second wedding was held outside. Thankfully we had a beautiful day. A photo of my nephew and his bride, is below with the mother of the groom dancing with him.
Last weekend, is the first time in many years, I didn’t have an article to share with you ready to go.
Some people have contacted me to find out why.
After my return home, myself and many other’s in my family came down with the dreaded Covid.
I was in bed for a few days, exhausted, coughing and stuffy.
Even though it felt odd to me not to share a blog, I wasn’t capable of doing so.
Fortunately, my dad and Hale didn’t get it!
Today I’m feeling much better, still not back to normal energy, only I feel like “I belong to the world again”.
Consequently, I’ve been reminded of the pyramid of a human being, I learned about years ago.
The premise being, the base of the pyramid is our physical health.
Then as you move up, our emotional, mental, and spiritual parts of us, all hinge on our physical health.
Can you still find peace in the other areas when you’re off at the base? Yes, only it takes more of an effort when the physical body is compromised.
Those of you that live with a chronic ailment or disease, may recognize what I’m talking about.
Here is the link to view this pyramid I’m speaking of:

What about you? Are you aware of when your physical body is out of sync, the rest of you is as well?
Lastly, my hope is, you will pay attention to all of these parts of you and find a healthy balance.
Spending time with those you love and cherish, is one way to help yourself.
With love,
Connie
