I just experienced a two day business conference in St. Paul, put on by Tena Pettis and her team at her business tena.cious.
The speakers have me thinking about community and connections today. There was a sense of both throughout the entire conference. I met new people during the two days who all seemed to share something similar. We each have a message to share with the world. Our messages come from our gifts we each have.
We talked about being messengers on this earth, and how important it is to share our gifts instead of ignoring them. It takes courage and commitment to move forward on our One Great Goal as one of the very insightful speakers, Ursula Mentjes spoke about. Your One Great Goal is something that matters the most to you at this time to accomplish.
(I actually won her book about this topic! I’m looking forward to opening it up soon.)
See when we each have many things that we want to create or accomplish, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and not do any of them. She had us write down 10 goals we had and then pick our One Great Goal. These goals will change as we keep moving along and accomplish each one.
My One Great Goal right now is to fill each of my Women In The Glow Circle Groups. I have my first larger group coming up on May 10, 2016. Here’s the link to register for it: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/women-in-the-glow-circle-group-tickets-24354876090
I know from my experiences and all of the women who have experienced being in circle with other women, what happens every time. Women who walk in shaking hands with others, leave hugging each other.
What happens as we gather and share from our hearts, is that sense of community I’m speaking of. A sense of putting our walls down and knowing we are not alone, the similarity we each have at a heart and soul level.
Then after the circles, we are each better able to handle life’s stresses more effectively as we move throughout our days. We have a quiet positiveness that comes from us. People in our lives can sense it.
I know as all of the women who gather in circle keep coming back as often as they can, the differences in each of their lives will begin to affect everyone around them, changing this planet.
So I ask you, when do you feel that sense of community? We are not an island onto ourselves. For me it truly takes a village of people to help me live here on earth.
The photo shown is from my 2015 Glow Kauai Retreat, where we really created our community during our 7 days and 7 nights together in paradise. Check out 2016’s Kauai Retreat and the videos from last year: www.conniehertz.com/retreat
