When you take time for people and things you enjoy, your life is so much happier.
First, as my life continues to be blessed with spending more time with our grandkids and my my kids, I’m acutely aware of how happy and light I feel.
If you’re a grandparent that is involved with your grandchildren, I would guess you feel the same way I do?
Also, having my beloved mom pass a way fairly suddenly, almost 2 years ago, it seems, has created more appreciation of the time I have here on earth.
As my friend, Elda, posted about her recent trip to Boston, spending quality time with many friends and giving undivided attention, created wonderful connections with each other.
To enjoy life to the degree Elda does, creates a life filled with love, fun, adventure and pure joy.
Because Elda also shared about the 5 Love Languages, I thought I’d share what they are:
- Quality Time
- Acts of Service
- Touch
- Words of Affirmation
- Gifts
I’ll share the link at the bottom of how to purchase the paperback or Kindle version of the book.
Therefore, when you take the test to determine which of the 5 love languages is your top one, and as you become aware as well of your spouse, partner, loved ones or friends top choice, you can utilize this to strengthen relationships.
Since my husband, Hale and I both took the test many years ago, we found out we share the same top love language. Acts of Service.
It’s important to know which one you and others close to you have. As you learn what they are and use them, the understanding of each other increases.
Then you are able to enjoy more about each other and find more appreciation.
And feeling joy and love, is really what life is about, isn’t it?
For instance, I enjoy turning on music in the shower and when I get ready. There’s something for me about music and singing, that shifts my energy.
I believe this is common for many of us.
Now that it’s summer and we get to eat dinner many evenings out on our deck with nature sounds and smells, I feel such joy and appreciation while experiencing this.
Similarly, in the colder times, which are more often throughout the year here in Minnesota, I turn music on during dinner and have our LED candles on.
It’s important to be aware of taking the time to do the little things that bring you joy.
What are they for you?
If you aren’t sure, sit quietly and start a list of things and people, that create joy inside of you.
For you see, you are responsible for your own joy. As you take the time for people and things that you enjoy, your happiness will increase.
Lastly, drop me an email with a few of your things and people whom you enjoy. I’d love to hear from you.
My hope is you will read the book below and use the information to create stronger relationships with yourself and others.
With love and appreciation for you,
Connie
