Lasting Friendships
By Connie Hertz
Pictured here with me are two of my childhood friends, Sharon and Donna. I have known Donna since we were 6 years old in first grade, and Sharon since 5th grade.
The three of us have been friends since 5th grade. We were like the “3 Musketeers”. For 3 females to get along like we did, is rare, in my experience. There was no jealousy or being catty. We did things together in grade school, junior high and high school. In high school we went on triple dates!
Donna and Sharon both married their high school sweethearts and remain married to them today.
I cherish our lasting friendship. We don’t get to see each other as we used to, since I moved to Minnesota and Donna now lives in Houston. We will still catch up on the phone and talk, and I do get to see Sharon as she still lives in the same town where my parents and family are, Toledo, Ohio.
Do you have lasting friendships too? If so, will you reach out to them this holiday season?
This is my short tribute to each of them, since we can’t all be together.
Donna and Sharon, I love you both so much and value our friendship and all of the times we have had together. I hope in 2015 the 3 of us will be able to get together for a long weekend! I’m putting that out there right now! To each of you and your families, I wish you a wonderful, love-filled Christmas and a healthy, prosperous 2015!
I hope you will get to connect with your friends this holiday season, and cherish every second you have together.
With many blessings to all of you,
Connie
