Happy Mother’s Day!
First, I hope you celebrate all the mother’s in your life on a regular basis.
Since I just returned home from a 9 day trip to our condo in Florida, I wanted to share it with you.
You see, I watched daily, my daughter, Abby and her 2/12 year old Elianah and 14 month old Elijah, interact.
Because she became a new mom 10 years in age after I did, her energy isn’t the same as mine was back then.
In other words, the challenges with two very active children these ages, were present each day.
Now don’t get me wrong, they are both fun and very loving, it’s just by the end of each day, I felt as if I’d run a marathon!
That’s how Abby feels every day.
She and her husband James, have their systems down pretty well at home.
Since he was in the UK visiting his family and friends for 11 days, we enjoyed our condo, beach, and pool with them.
Lots more to do there than in Minnesota, this time of year.
Happy was the theme for Elianah the majority of the time.
Elijah as well, when he was at the beach.
Furthermore, he needs to be watched constantly. Much more than his big sister.
Being a good mom, requires patience, love, caring, and kindness, even when you don’t have much energy left.
Abby, really shines as a mom. Does she get impatient at times?
Of course. Only being so close and watching them each day, for 9 days, I’m proud of the mother she is.
Elianah says “happy, happy”, when she really enjoys herself.
In contrast to Abby’s age, my mom, who passed away in August 2021, was a very young mom and grandma.
Plus, my daughter has wanted to ask her many times, how she did it with 5 children close in age.
However, my mom passed away, about 6 weeks before Elianah was born.
This Mother’s day, as the last two before this, my mom isn’t on earth.
I have written many articles about my mom over the years, with the love and appreciation I have for her.
Hence, I feel Mom’s presence each day.
Above all, our 9 day trip brought me even closer to our two youngest grandchildren.
Elianah even slept with me in our king bed. Feeling her little arm draped across my side as she went to sleep was priceless.
Her movements in bed each night had this grandma, half awake since the first night she fell out of bed! She wasn’t hurt, since I had many pillows on the floor, only it sure had my heart beating fast!
Feeling the kids joy, on the beach, in the pool and on our balcony watching for dolphins and manatees, was so special.
My hope is you are creating precious memories with those you love and cherish.
My love and appreciation,
Connie
