I just came back from a very powerful Labor Day weekend retreat in South Florida. This group of people for the last year, have been my extended family. I flew to Ft. Lauderdale 6 times in the last year to take part in this business/mastermind class.
The relationships that were built over the last year at the in person retreats and from our weekly mastermind calls, and twice monthly webinar classes, will last for a lifetime.
When you are learning and growing and becoming more of who you are meant to be along side each other, it’s a powerful experience.
Who are some people in your life that are not blood relatives, that are your extended family?
I am a person who loves deeply and I love to keep in touch with people who matter to me. I have friends from first grade, second grade, fifth grade and many friends I made along my journey over the last 60 years here on this earth.
I was able to room with my dear friend Margie at the Emerge Retreat in South Florida last weekend, and felt so blessed for our moments together. Margie is shining right through her journey, even with her diagnosis back in May of this year, of a rare form of leukemia. She is awaiting a stem cell transplant after her treatments are completed at a Cancer Center in Miami.
Margie has the most amazing positive mindset and is constantly giving to everyone around her. I was amazed at her energy she had last weekend, staying up later than I did!
I’m writing this today because I feel such deep connections to so many people in my life who are not blood relatives, and yet I consider my family.
I wish for everyone the kind of relationships I have developed and grown over my life.
I stay in touch per phone, text, email, social media and in person with the many souls I count as my friends and extended family.
I hope this will be a reminder to you today to reach out and call or contact those people who matter to you, and have not been in touch with for quite awhile.
Let people know they matter to you in small ways! Leave me a message below about how you do this.
Many blessings to all of you,
Connie
