Bliss, what does that mean to you? I looked up one of the meanings in the dictionary:
noun
supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment
My friend Wynnie wrote a book of poems called, Find Your Bliss. I usually use the word “Joy” instead of “Bliss”, only I’m guessing they both mean the same to most of us.
So how do you find Bliss and how do you stay there most of your moments? For me, it’s about slowing down and living in my present moments. It’s about looking around as many moments of your day, each and every day, and really finding appreciation for what you have, what’s around you, for the people you love, and simply letting yourself feel.
Yesterday, my daughter Abby and I met my son Adam and my granddaughter Livi, at an indoor park she loves. Livi is 21 months old and very smart, loving, full of energy, and good with the other kids around her. She called me “grandma” for the first time yesterday! Now that was pure joy and bliss! I didn’t realize she even put it all together that I was her grandma. When she handed me a ball, as I actually caught it all on video, she said “Here grandma”. I was so happy and surprised! Being with her is so special and I appreciate every second.
My bliss also is felt when the weather is getting warmer, and the other night, on April 1st it was 81 degrees and we got to eat our dinner on the deck here in Minnesota. Listening to all of the birds, ducks and geese created so much joy for me.
What can you do on purpose to feel your bliss? What are the things that make you feel warm and cozy and extremely happy? Go do those things as often as you can and slow down and enjoy your present moments more than not.
The photo above is of my love Hale and I at my recent awards ceremony. It was another joyous, very special time for me. I am making more joyous, blissful moments in the last few years, consciously, than I ever have.
You can too! Contact me if you want to talk further about how I have done it more of my moments than not.
Your action step this week is to slow down, look around yourself and find things that make you smile!
With many blessings to you,
Connie
