You need to be aware of your mindset, as often as you can.
Why? Because what you are thinking about yourself, people, situations, and your life, will eventually become who you are and what you have in your life. Your mindset is that important.
First, if you are constantly thinking of things you don’t want in your life, and are focusing on what you are afraid of, and who or what you’re unhappy with, you will become someone who isn’t very pleasant to be around.
Consequently, you will become an unhappy person who complains and you will find yourself living an unhappy life.
You will be creating things in your life that in your heart of hearts, you truly don’t want.
For an example, a few years ago, I was with my dear 104 year old friend and mentor, Lorna, who had a great mindset.
I told her about two 103 year old ladies I saw in a video on FB. These two ladies were complaining and using cuss words on a TV program they were being interviewed for.
In contrast, Lorna seemed so much younger than these two ladies. Lorna immediately said to me, “It’s mindset, mindset, mindset”.
Lorna was always a joy to be around. She passed away after her 105th birthday. I wish you could have known her. What an example she was for everyone.
You need to become aware of your thoughts throughout everyday. Stop as often as you can, and check in with yourself to see where your mindset is.
Pay attention to what you’re feeling at that moment. Use the Emotional Scale I talk about often, to assess where you are at.
Your emotions are your guidance system, telling you what you are thinking. The more positive thoughts you are thinking regularly, the better you will feel in any given moment. Sometimes I find it hard to keep myself on the left side of the Emotional Scale where your vibrations and energy are higher.
Hence what works so often for me, is to take a few moments to look around and find someone or something to appreciate.
Above all, appreciation is a doorway to move yourself to the left side of the scale or on to feeling more uplifted.
It’s really up to each one of us to not live on autopilot.
Stop moving from one thing to the next, without paying attention to what’s going on inside of you and what’s going on around you.
We need to guard our thoughts and our mindset carefully and intentionally. As you do this, you will begin to create a happier, more joyful life, with more things going on that you truly love.
Your relationships will change for the better. Stop and appreciate what you have in your life. Your mood will change to more joy, and you’ll begin to feel more love for yourself and others.
Your action step this week is to slow down and pay attention to how you feel and what you are thinking . Will you do that?
Write to me and tell me one thing you will do this week to help yourself create a more joyful, loving and appreciative mindset!
Blessings to you,
Connie
