After the rain, comes sun and growth. Especially in nature. Only in life experiences, it’s a choice.
Because we have had so much rain here in Minnesota lately, everything is so green. The growth of flowers, bushes, grass and weeds, are really prominent.
Similarly, in life, growth takes place many times after a traumatic or stressful event. Not always however.
As I stated above, it’s a choice. Our choice.
Basically, you choose how you will move forward after something painful happens in your life.
I had a therapist back in 2001-2002, who gave me a vivid picture or analogy, to hang onto.
Back then, my life had fallen completely apart, leaving me with no hope. I lived in despair for the first time in my life.
Because the therapist knew I was hanging on my a thread, she told me to keep moving forward through the dark tunnel I lived in.
Doing things that were familiar to me, such as exercise, prayer, meditation, and sharing with close people, helped me as I lived from one second to the next.
The end of that analogy, was, “One day you will move through the dark tunnel into the light”. I could picture that happening one day.
Furthermore, as I focused on my growth, I found a comparison to the weeds I now pull in our yard.
Our weeds are overwhelming to me. There are too many to tackle at one time.
I find as I give myself a time limit to spend pulling them, I feel accomplished at the end of that time.
And yet, as it continues to rain, the growth of the weeds, take off.
Consequently, as in life, the challenges continue, the weeds grow, as I do my best to pull them or address the challenge.
Reaching out to ask for help, is necessary during these times as well.
Whether it’s asking for help pulling the weeds or with the issue that’s bothering you.
Taking care of myself along the way is similar to giving myself a time limit as I’m out pulling weeds.
You see, if I stay out pulling the weeds longer than my body can handle, I pay a price.
Likewise, if you focus too much on your challenge, not taking care of yourself, you will pay a price.
Life and growth are like the rain and the sun. They are constantly changing.
Additionally, if you know in the end, things will not always be challenging, you can hang on to and enjoy more present moments.
The sun will come out, yet it will rain again eventually.
Are you seeing that it’s our mindset that matters in all of these instances?
Lastly, remember the Universal Laws as often as you can.
The Universal Law of Rhythm, reminds us our relationships have different cycles and not to become discouraged.
Using the Laws, will help us in so many ways.
Go back into my articles I’ve written over the years about these Laws to reacquaint yourself with them.

Finally, I did walk into the light after a couple years of living in that dark tunnel.
All of the pain I lived within, eventually brought me to become a life coach and hosting 6 Spiritual Vacation Retreats. As well as sharing these articles for the last more than 12 years.
With love and hope,
Connie
