Those of you who have been following the events of my life through my blogs and social media, know I just began a new chapter of my life.
I moved from the east side of the Mississippi to the west side within the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul. I have lived on the east side since 1992 when we moved from Muncie, Indiana.
It’s really ironic that the day of my move, April 4th, was the exact day 12 years earlier that Hale and I met. Not planned, it just worked out that way. We both had been in relationships that ended with some pain. For me, lots of pain.
People have asked us for many years, why we didn’t live together? We were perfectly happy living a 35 minute drive away in no traffic to over an hour in traffic, seeing each other mostly on the weekends. Well, we both decided awhile ago to move in together.
Hale has been remodeling his home to make it ours. I am closing on my home I built after my divorce this Tuesday April 12th. It’s great to have this wonderful new space to call home.
I cried most of the way over here on Monday with the movers in their trucks carrying my furniture and household goods, following me, with my car loaded to the roof with fragile things. I am a very emotional person and as I’ve stated in other blogs, I have not really loved too much change.
Well, I am happy to report that I am thrilled to be here living as a family finally with my love, Hale. It feels so right and natural and I forgot how I really enjoy being a part of a couple living under the same roof. I learned after my painful divorce in 2001-2002, how to live alone and really enjoy it.
Hale lived alone for a few more years than me. We are both independent, both enjoy cooking and he does everything for himself.
However, even in the midst of unpacking with my friend Katie Ocel helping me for 3 full days, working tirelessly to get some order in my new home because I do not do very well with disorganization, I cooked meals and loved every second of it all.
The photo shown above is of me and Hale in Kauai. He will join me at the end of October for my second Glow Kauai Retreat, where we already have 3 couples going and two single ladies. Yay! If you want to join us, go check out the all inclusive retreat here: www.conniehertz.com/retreat
I’m excited for our new life together and feel new and fresh every day!
What have you done lately to create a new fresh feeling inside of yourself?

Connie I am so happy for you. With my dad being in the Air Force we moved every 2-3 years and every time it was emotional for me. Even when Chuck and I moved from our little 2 bedroom house to the house we have lived in for almost 29 years I cried. There is something about the unknown.
Like you I prefer little or no change. :-). But change happens and usually it’s for the better.
Can’t wait to spend time on Kauai with you and getting to know Hale.
XOXO

Connie, that’s good news! My change is small but I have been purging the junk in my bathroom and kitchen and reorganizing with the help of a good friend . now that feels good. Can’t wait to tackle my basement.

Beautiful Connie! Congratulations on this next chapter in the book of life! I always enjoy reading your blogs and serendipitously I too am preparing for another move. But in my case- I’ll be going from the mid-west straight out to the West. Glad to hear I’m not the only one out there who feels the way you do about moving. I’m working on getting myself exciting for the changes ahead. Sending lots of love your way!
Thank you Laura!~ I appreciate your comments. I wish you well on your big move out West!~ Many blessings to you!
