With this month of Thanksgiving, comes many people turning their thoughts to what they’re grateful for, what they appreciate.
Since appreciation is a large piece of what I coach, I’m excited about this month.
I am extremely grateful for my very large family! I’m the second child of five, from Toledo, Ohio. All of my family live in the Toledo area, except for me, my daughter, and my son and family, Hale and our three grandchildren.
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” William Arthur Ward
I have always gone back to Toledo for Thanksgiving and for Christmas. I am blessed to have my mom and dad alive and well at 85 and 83. I get to stay in my home I grew up in and in fact in the same bedroom and bed I slept in growing up! How rare and awesome is that for me at 60 years old?
To me, family means so very much. My love, Hale, hasn’t had his parents for many years now. He doesn’t come from a large family like I do. He enjoys being around my big, noisy family, and really appreciates them.
I will be writing each week of this month about gratitude.
I’m speaking this month at one of my women’s groups, WIN, Women In Networking, here in the Twin Cities. They wanted me to include gratitude/appreciation in my speech.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share with my peers, my take on appreciation, and how appreciation can literally transform your life. I teach about going on a Rampage of Appreciation, and share a simple exercise to shift you out of any situation you may be in.
In the photo attached is my family of origin. It was a few years ago, and one of my favorite photos of us!
My action step for each of you this week and beyond, is to focus daily on things you appreciate.
Begin writing daily in a gratitude journal.
Share with me below what one of those things are!
With much gratitude for you,
Connie
