The circle of life is a symbolic representation of birth, survival and death.
The idea of life as a circle or a wheel exists across multiple religions and philosophies.
For instance, this is what I found as I researched this topic:
“Life is represented as a circle because it is a constant loop. People are constantly born and are constantly dying.
There is a spiritual element to the circle, however, in the idea that the end of one’s existence is not necessarily the end of life altogether.
Many religions and philosophies believe that through a certain life path, another life (usually a better one) awaits after humans leave this one.
Thus, when humans die, they are not dead but merely reborn to begin another circle of life.”
First, my thoughts about the circle of life and where you go when you pass away, have helped me with my grieving now, after Mom’s passing.
Consequently, my thoughts about the veil between here on earth and heaven, being very thin, help me to know my mom is close by.
You see, since her passing, I have felt her presence often. My sisters have felt her presence too. I talk to her many times each day.
Similarly, people I have talked with, that have lost a parent or someone close, have shared with me their experiences.
My friend, Carol Morgan, lost her son Mikey many years ago. I bought her book she wrote with the help of her son, as he continues to send her messages from heaven.
I will get the book out and read it again. It’s called, “Flying High In Spirit”. You can buy it on Amazon:
As a result of my conversation with Dad in Toledo, after Mom’s passing, about the circle of life, I needed to write and process this topic.
Since birth is the beginning of the circle of life, the fact that my parents 30th great grandchild will be born in the next few weeks, my daughters’ daughter, I am focusing on this as much as I can. Not the last part of the circle, death.
Although, I do know as my mom spoke to me this past March when I was with her after her last surgery, she relayed, she was not afraid to die. She said, “I know where I’m going.”
As the quote above says, “Thus, when humans die, they are not dead but merely reborn to begin another circle of life.”
Mom is reborn and is living another part of this circle. I know I will see her again one day.
For me, Dad, my siblings and extended family, life is about living. Living it to the fullest, the best we can. To carry on the love, and lessons we learned from her.
As we all carry her with us each day, her spirit lives on in each of us.
Dad said last night, “I’m focusing on the memories.”
Appreciation of so many things with Mom over the years and that so many of us were able to say good-bye to her for now, comes to my mind often.
Lastly, we are planning our Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, keeping the traditions Mom loved so much, as we will be together. As many of us as can, will be there for each holiday.
At Christmas, the newest member of our family, my granddaughter, my parents 30th great grandchild and her parents, will be with us, from Florida, as we continue this beautiful circle of life.
With love and appreciation for all of your love, prayers and thoughts the last few weeks,
Connie
