When I Googled “Self Care” this is one of the things I found:
Self care
Care for oneself; self treatment | |
---|---|
Self care is personal health maintenance. It is any activity of an individual, family or community, with the intention of improving or restoring health, or treating or preventing disease.
Self care includes all health decisions people (as individuals or consumers) make for themselves and their families to get and stay physically and mentally fit. Self care is exercising to maintain physical fitness and good mental health. It is also eating well, practicing good hygiene and avoiding health hazards such as smoking and drinking to prevent ill health. Self care is also taking care of minor ailments, long term conditions, or one’s own health after discharge from secondary and tertiary health care.
Individuals do self care, and experts and professionals support self care to enable individuals to do enhanced self care.
So I ask you, what are you doing daily to take care of yourself?
As I have spoken of before, I have become really good at taking care of myself. I look at taking care of me as something that has to be, in order for me to be able to give to others, as much of my “best self” as I can.
I listen to what is going on with me as often as I can, tweaking and making adjustments if I am feeling out of synch with my God energy, or the Connie I am meant to be. It’s truly a journey, everyday!
I have found I really enjoy writing these articles every week, and expressing whatever is inside of me to share with you.
I never knew I would find so much joy in writing weekly and sharing it out there in the world for all to see. I have needed to become vulnerable, to write my perceptions with all of you and have this posted for the entire world to see.
We are all connected, and I know the more I share of me with all of you, the closer I get to becoming the Connie I was meant to become, when I arrived here now, 58 years ago, July 8, 1955.
I take my hour every day, to read my daily readings, write in my gratitude journal, write my intentions for the day, and share them and my “Main Purpose Statement” ( check out Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill) with my partner Hale, and my sister, Carol. I also say prayers for many people and check in with my FB friends!
This week I have my yearly “wellness check up”, and that is a way I take care of me. I exercise regularly, eat healthy foods most of the time, including my daily protein shake I talked about back in my May 2013 article/blog, with lots of veggies and fruit, and drink more than 60 ounces of spring water daily.
I meditate most afternoons, take great supplements, and I look around myself consciously and appreciate my present moments as often as I can. Staying in a positive and appreciative frame of mind, really helps me perceive things in a way that I am attracting more of the things and people, I want into my life.
As I take care of myself, I feel happier, more at peace with who I am, and I truly live in more joy than I ever knew was possible.
We are responsible for our own happiness in every way! The better care we take of ourselves, the more we have to give and the better our energy is that we are putting out into the world.
I hope you get some inspiration from what I write and my guests write each week!
